The Story

A Deliberate Pivot — With the Credentials to Back It Up

Before founding Mosquito Shield of Boca and Fort Lauderdale, Eric spent nearly two decades in corporate America — most of it at Chico's FAS, where he helped manage a $1B+ P&L across 525+ retail locations in the US and Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Management from Penn State's Smeal College of Business and an MBA in Finance & Entrepreneurship from Rollins College's Crummer Graduate School of Business.

The move to pest control wasn't a fallback — it was a calculated decision. South Florida's outdoor lifestyle is the whole point of living here: backyard evenings near the Intracoastal, fishing the Boca Inlet or Hillsboro Inlet on weekends, entertaining on the lanai after dinner on Las Olas. Mosquitoes steal that. Eric built a business specifically designed to give it back.

He earned his Pest Control Technology degree from the University of Florida while building the franchise from the ground up — obtaining all five Florida state licenses including a separate Public Health license under Chapter 388. He is a Certified Pest Control Operator (CPCO) in General Household Pest & Rodent Control, Lawn & Ornamental, and Termite & WDO Control, and is currently partnered with Arkion Life Sciences on developing a next-generation all-natural formula tuned specifically for South Florida's mosquito species and climate conditions.

He's also a volunteer business mentor through the Boca Raton Chamber's Young Entrepreneurs Academy, a member of the American Mosquito Control Association, and has been quoted in the Sun Sentinel as a local expert on South Florida mosquito conditions.

Local to South Florida

We Know These Neighborhoods Because We Live in Them

Mosquito pressure in South Florida isn't generic — it's hyperlocal. A canal-front lot in Las Olas Isles has completely different conditions than a golf-community estate in Boca West, a lakefront home in Broken Sound, or a dock on the Intracoastal in Lighthouse Point. The same is true comparing Coral Springs preserve-edge properties to Pompano Beach waterway communities.

Eric fishes the Boca Inlet and Hillsboro Inlet. He knows what the afternoon storm pattern does to standing water behind your pool equipment. He knows which neighborhoods back up to Everglades drainage canals and which ones flood after the C-14 and C-15 canal overflow. That local knowledge informs every treatment plan.

The Science

Our Mosquito Protection Blend (MPB)

The MPB formula was developed specifically for South Florida's mosquito species, heat, humidity, and daily rainfall patterns — refined through field research incorporating University of Florida IFAS protocols and formulation partnerships with industry specialists. It's not off-the-shelf chemistry. It's built for this climate.

Mosquito Shield is also currently partnered with Arkion Life Sciences on next-generation all-natural formulations — with South Florida field conditions as the primary test environment.

Citronella
Pheromone disruptor & carrier
Interrupts the CO₂ and body-heat signals mosquitoes use to locate hosts. Also acts as a carrier for the other active ingredients.
Rosemary
Long-lasting repellent
Outperforms garlic-based repellents with a stronger, longer residual effect that holds through South Florida heat.
Peppermint
Mating cycle disruptor
High menthol content deters mosquitoes and disrupts reproductive cycles, reducing future populations over time.
Castor Oil
Respiratory system target
Disrupts mosquito respiration at a physiological level — providing a non-toxic kill mechanism safe for the surrounding ecosystem.
Geraniol
Larvicide
Effective at eliminating larvae before they mature into adults — targeting the problem at its source in standing water.
RainShield Polymer
Weather resistance
Bonds the formula to treated surfaces so it remains effective through South Florida's daily afternoon thunderstorms.
What We Stand For

Our Commitments

🔬

Science First

Every product and technique we use is backed by academic research and field testing under real South Florida conditions — not repurposed formulas designed for cooler climates.

🐝

No Neonicotinoids

We do not use neonicotinoids. Protecting pollinators is non-negotiable. You can have effective mosquito control without damaging the ecosystem.

👪

Rapid Re-Entry

People and pets can return to treated areas once the product is dry — typically 30 minutes. We follow EPA label directions precisely.

🌧️

Built for Florida Rain

Our RainShield polymer bonds the formula to surfaces so it holds through daily afternoon thunderstorms — not just until the next time it rains.

📋

No Contracts

We earn your business every single visit. No lock-in, no cancellation fees. Backed by a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first treatment.
